Summer Academy
in Our Preparatory Courses
The KAA Socratic Summer Academy is a 3-4 week academic camp located in the hills of upstate New York, on the campus of Colgate University. Rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders come to participate in the Upperclassmen and Underclassmen academies.
High school students of all ages live together in dormitories at Colgate University. All of our students select elective courses like creative writing and environmental science, courses that expose them to diverse topics they rarely find at their high schools. During their free time, students hike Colgate's hills and mountains, swim in the pool, work out in the fitness center, play basketball, tennis, volleyball, soccer, ping pong, racquetball, or squash, attend outdoor concerts, go to movie theaters, or sit around campfires, staring at the stars. Our teachers serve as friends and mentors, guides students through difficult decisions, and leads group academic activities like quiz bowls.
